A superior grip.
Everything about these grips are first rate! Only tiny characteristic that might be improved upon is the excess material extending into the grip screw holes. This is effortlessly removed with small blade scraping around the holes. The design is superb, fits perfectly and has a texture which is grippy to avoid slippage, yet very comfortable. I've used several Pachmyr grips over the years for different brands of 1911s and the result is the same. The finger grooves are designed to feel totally natural. Side panels offer a oerfect blend of "give" and "hold". If there's anything which can improve upon the design or feel of the grips, I'd like toknow what it is. Excellent Choice
This grip is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking to upgrade their 1911. The finger grooves makes my Government Model feel much more secure in my hand. It also allows for the use of an ambidextrous thumb safety. Additionally, the lion medallion in the grip resembles the Colt medallion, for those who want to try and maintain that factory look over the Hogue grip. You can even install this Pachmayr grip using the factory grip screws. This grip is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking to upgrade their 1911. The finger grooves makes my Government Model feel much more secure in my hand. It also allows for the use of an ambidextrous thumb safety. Of course, having owned and used this brand in the past I had no concerns about the product itself, but was curious about the actual application I was going to use them for. Bottom line is that all fears were erased as soon as I held them up in position on the grip frame. There fit perfectly with no modification, heating, or any other procedure or alteration that some had described in their reviews of them. For those who had problems with installation, at least on the same application for which I purchased them, I can't imagine what their complaints could have been based on. These fit perfectly and have absolutely made control of my 1911 more manageable under either shooting bench or ... Tamed A Harsh Recoil
I got a Ruger SR1911 because of reviews and the price. When I took it to the range it hurt the web of my hand to shoot. I put the Pachmayer Combat Grips on it and it tamed it right down. The gun is now fun to shoot and I can concentrate on my sight picture and trigger pull. Great move!!!!
