Hogue Bantom rubber stocks for Smith J-Frame review

The Hogue Bantam grip is a one oice, nylon-backed and synthetic rubber overlaid Fri that has not third finger groove for your oinky, nor a rubber covered for the backstrap It is primarily for a decent grip and concealment, rather than for the best control and recoil management. It offers a "trade-off," as a balance between the two types of inexpensive rubeer stocks. I chose the smaller grip for its handiness for carry, believing that the chance of having to use it is slight in a suburban domicile, and larger handguns can come into play in the home. Thus, it offers good "purchase" of your fingers for stability, while offering more concealability for walking around it a calm environment.

No good for men with big hands

I have a 3:37 Smith and Wesson J frame 38 special titanium snug nose is my deep cover weapon, unfortunately the grips that come with these models are too small for men with big hands actually the Bantam grips are smaller than the factory rubber grips that i receive with the weapon houge grips have always been a good product but I would not recommend these grips for anybody with big hands that carries a 337 Smith & Wesson... unfortunately the wave of the future will be having a shop on the internet as brick-and-mortar stores are disappearing left and right and we're no longer able to be able to see the product were buying we're going to have to buy Blind. .. and anyone who's big is obsolete in today Society

  • Nice grips, worth it to get them.

The Hogue 61000 Bantam Rubber grips fit very well on my S&W 642 J Frame. If you follow the instructions, installing them is relatively easy. I found these better over the stock rubber grips that come with J frames because you can use speed loaders like the HK (HKS 36). The grips are obviously rubber, but I did not find them overly 'grippy', and the little bit of 'grippyness' they do have diminishes with use over time. They are slightly smaller than the stock rubber grips which helps concealment purposes. I get two full fingers around the grip and my pinky under the butt. They also have a slight palm swell which helps fill my hand in the right spot. Recoil absorption feels about the same as the stock rubber grips. They have some nice advantages over the stock rubber grips, which I ...

  • Boot Grip for when the Bantam Hits the Fan

I had previously used Uncle Mike's Boot grip for J-Frames, that was until I tried a revolver with the Hogue grips. I was surprised by how much better these grips felt when compared to Uncle Mike's. The Bantam grips fill the hand and allow for a better thumb hold above the grip. By contouring the grips to the natural shape of the hand they were able to make them somewhat smaller than the other grips. The grips that come with S&W J-Frames today are very similar to UM and after trying the Hogue Bantam Grips leave a lot to be desired. Now that I've tried the Hogue Bantam grips, I'll probably never be able to use a J-Frame that isn't equipped with such easy and hand filling security. The Hogue Grips will be smarter and less expensive deal than just about any other grip, by ...

  • 1971 Model 36

Put these grips on a older S&W model 36 I have that still had the original wooden grips. Grips went on easy and have a nice tight fit when installed. Put about 25 rounds through the gun. These grips provide a much better grip on the gun than the old ones. They look good, perform well and a good price.
