Please note my "yes" votes have a qualification: I didn't research my purchase before buying. I have Colt government magazines which have solid base plates that do not separate from the magazine body. These pads require the base of your magazine to be removable. I have found there are glue-on base pads which have gotten good reviews as well as ones that require drilling your own holes (5/64" pilot, 3/32" finish) using the base pad as a guide. Fortunately I found some 38 Super magazines that can accept these base pads, so I will hang onto them. Just make sure your base plate is detachable.

The more I buy Wilson products, the more I wonder how they got such a strong reputation in our community. I previously associated the name Wilson with high quality drop in products, the last 3 items required smithing, and to be honest, these pads are cheap plastic and far more trouble to install than they're worth. Perhaps from now on when I hear the name rather than think of quality high end gun parts, I'll reflect fondly on the volleyball from Castaway.

I have a couple different 1911 mags, all good quality but the problem is I can't get the original base plates off without a huge effort and possibly damaging them. Wilson Combat is always great quality but because of the lack of info on the page on how to install I could only give the pads 4 stars

Fits my Wilson magazines perfectly, super easy to install or remove for cleaning the inside of the magazine, replacing the spring, etc. Wilson makes 3 different base pads, these are the least expensive since they are plastic versus the others which are aluminum or steel, but they perform perfectly. They are slightly "taller" than the low profile aluminum or steel pads, but this can actually help in getting the mag seated all the way into the well.

I have these on all my single stack Wilson mags and they do a great job of protecting the magazines when you eject them and just as good a job helping properly seat the magazine when you insert it.
