Complete selection of high quality springs to breathe new life into any tired old 1911. Overall an excellent quality kit at a reasonable price which is to be expected from Wilson Combat. It should be noted that the sear/interrupter/grip safety spring (3 blade leaf spring) must be custom bent for your gun. However, this should come as no surprise to anyone familiar with the 1911 platform as pretty much everything requires some level of "tweaking" on a 1911. Unfortunately, the only method of tuning this spring is trial and error. Obviously, since this spring controls the firing mechanism (sear and interrupter) as well as one of the safeties (grip safety) on the firearm it MUST be done correctly and thoroughly tested (safety checks) prior to any live fire. If you are not confident in your abilities with this spring seek the help of a competent gunsmith. Every other spring in this kit is simple "drop in" installation. Read full review

This kit has caused a fair amount of irritation because two of the biggest parts didn't fit. The sear spring and recoil spring didn't fit on the gun. The sear spring was about 1/16 too short so the end of the spring didn't rest on the sear so I had to keep the original. The recoil spring was interesting.its about an inch longer and visibly smaller diameter to the original. This caused it to scrape against the guide rod. When I pushed the spring cap into position, it stopped about 1/8in and the guide rod wouldn't seat. Again, I just kept the original. Except today I tried to put the recoil spring in and sent my spring cap flying to parts unknown. The recoil spring is useless, the sear spring is useless, and because the recoil spring didn't fit correctly, I'm out a spring cap and have to buy a new one. Read full review

Ordered this to replace the springs in my Tisas Duty 1911. While the springs in the Tisas felt fine, the mag release spring was extremely stiff. I looked online for a replacement when I found this kit. I figured for $20, why not replace them all as I have heard that on the lower tier 1911''s, the springs can be cheap. For the most part, everything dropped right in. The sear spring (leaf spring) needed a little tuning but that was it. I matched up the original sear spring to the WC and bent it till it matched. After installing all the springs, the gun feels smoother and the safety engages with a lot more positive feedback. There is a ton of YouTube videos on how to replace them and it's fairly easy with no special tools required.

I just put these in two old 1911s, one Colt one ria, and now they run like new. I didn't even notice how worn out the springs had gotten in these guns until I put these new ones in and they made a world of difference. I highly recommend this spring set. Some minor fitting may be required on rock islands.

This is a 1927 Colt .45 made in Argentina under a license from Colt on Colt equipment. The Argentine workers were Colt trained. It was manufactured in May or June of 1927; serial # 3936 of 10,000. Most of the pistols made in this run were blued. I don't know if this was chromed originally or if it was done at a later date, but it is in excellent condition. I replaced the springs (which appeared to be original) with the Wilson Combat kit. The weapon shoots beautifully.
