Used this trigger while giving my dad's Remington 700 "06" a total make-over. This is a crisp and properly set trigger for hunting. I also replaced the bolt's firing pin with a Gre-Tan firing pin and spring...very noticeable improvement! Timney makes great products. (If you DIY, watch Brownell's YouTube video on the change out...worth taking the time to do it right the first time and go through the proper safety checks after install.)

I HAVE A TIMNEY TRIGGER ON ONE OF MY OTHER GUNS AND IT WORKS GREAT. SO I THOUGHT PUTTING ONE ON MY REMINGTON 700 MOUNTAIN RIFLE WOULD BE EASY. IT WAS TO A CERTAIN POINT. WHEN I PUT THE STOCK AND TRIGGER GUARD BACK ON THE TRIGGER WAS OFF TO ONE SIDE AND RUBBING ON ONE SIDE OF THE TRIGGER GUARD OPENING. THE INSTRUCTIONS SAY THE TIMNEY IS SLIGHTLY WIDER AND MODIFYING THE OPENING MAY BE NECESSARY. THERE WAS PLENTY OF ROOM ON THE OTHER SIDE SO I CONCLUDED IT WAS CROOKED FOR SOME REASON. I ALSO DIDNT WANT TO FILE THE OPENING ON MY RIFLE. I ENDED UP REMOVING THE TIMNEY TRIGGER AND PUTTING THE ORIGINAL BACK ON AND ADJUSTING IT PER INSTRUTIONS ONLINE

This is my second Timney trigger and it is as good as the first one, which was for a Ruger 10/22. While most videos and instructions indicated that the front retaining pin could be removed without removing the bolt release, my 700 did not allow me to do so. I had to remove the rear pin and bolt release to remove the front pin. New Timney trigger slipped in effortlessly, without any modification. With retention pins installed, action functioned flawlessly. Trigger is crisp, with nice 3# pull and I know it is a safer gun!

Probably the best option for the 700. Easy installation. I recommend the Brownell's video. Made in the USA. Great little devotional type story card included in the package: "Let go and let God." Clean breaking trigger in a beefy, well made housing. Set at about 3lb from the factory. It needed zero adjusting for me. I installed it on a 1976 chambered in 25-06. No additional stock fitting. Dropped right in...bolt release didn't need bending for me either. If you want a quality replacement trigger, this is about as good as you will get in that $100-$125 range.

Strait forward, and high quality. They are the blue ray of the trigger world, you can spend more and stress more but in the end 98% of the shooters will be just as happy and not be able to tell the difference in like adjusted more pricey brands. Considering you have to replace the new Remington POS trigger they are so proud of timney is the standard all others will be compared to.
