These are the best quality Ar gunsmithing and maintenance holding type fixtures around. I have used promag, wheeler and others from midway, which fit was sloppy compared to to No-mar. These have a snug magwell for the lower and upper receiver pin fit were finger pressure tight. Very good tolerances for all milspec 15 and non mil spec Dpms builds. These are the ones to use, I have been using No-Mar products for years with zero issues.

The No-M.A.R. is a good device to hold your upper receiver for light duty work. The vise block is approximately 1 3/8" thick and requires a vise with jaws that are 1 3/8" deep to achieve the max benefit from this device. My vise is only about 1" deep and the plastic vise block began to deform and roll in the vise at about 50 ft-lbs of torque on the barrel nut. For torquing up barrels to max torque or for multiple barrel work, I would recommend a reaction rod like made by Geissele and others.

I bought this because I have the 5.56 kit as well. Great product, best upper vise block in my option. My only complaint is that I couldn't get both of my lugs(only one lined up) on my upper(Aero M5) to line up to put the pins in through, still drops into the slots on the block. Wouldn't hinder any instillation or repair. I really cant complain, there is no "spec" for the 7.62 platform. Would recommend to anyone wanting a good vise block.

It's plastic takes a lot of abuse, it's absolutely THE tool to use. It works..! I clamped my upper into a flat drill press vice, then clamped it all down to the top of the coffee table. Just for added security I ran a large "C-clamp" on the NoMar as well. Nothing so much as moved replacing the barrel nut/handgaurd, and muzzle brake.

Too little vise pressure and the blocks slip out of the vise and too much pressure and you run the risk of crushing the upper you are trying to hold on to. I used some stainless very fine expanded metal between the vise jaws and the action blocks and it went fairly well. However trying to go past 50 Ft.Lbs. with tork wrench is not a good idea. I wouldn't use this for removing a barrel nut from another rifle. For what I paid this is an ok tool but it does have limitations.
