I have never had a whole quart of Hoppe's No. 9 before, but I guess my son and grandson can use it when I'm gone. The product has one of those special odors that transports you back to the days when you were cleaning that .22 rifle you got as a kid. I suppose some of the new fangled, high tech bore cleaner/lubricant miracle products may work as well (perhaps even better), but Hoppe's No. 9 is what I'll be scrubbing my bores with as long as I can still clean a weapon. Have to say, though, that the quart bottle is plastic and it came somewhat deformed, so I'm "decanting" the bore cleaner into some older Hoppe's No. 9 glass bottles. Obviously it is safer to ship in the plastic container, and I'm sure they don't all arrive deformed.

This is still the standard for gun cleaning solvents as far as I am concerned. I have used this product for close to 30 years. It is a safe, effective gun cleaner. It gets into all the parts, yet easy to dry completely. This quart size is price effective. The seller got the product to me quickly. I am very pleased. Will order again when I need it.

I buy it by the quart-what more can I say! Been using it for ages as my general cleaning solution . Works well on all different types of firearms. Good price for the 32 oz bottles.

I have been using Hoppe's #9 for many years as do most of the gun friends I know. It does a great job of cleaning the bore and parts of the rifle, shotgun, and hand guns and prevents rust and helps protect the finish of the firearm. Buying the quart size makes it less expensive and a good price on eBay without any hassles. I highly recommend Hoppe's #9 and going through eBay to purchase it. The quart size can be rather difficult to find so I grabbed a few while they were available. NO - you guys can't use it for an after shave lotion - it's for guns! I love the smell of Hoppe's #9 in the morning. Your guns will love it too after a day at the range.

Although not formulate to dissolve heavy copper fouling as many new military style solvents are, Standard Hoppe's #9 has been cleaning the average shooter's guns since the 1930's. Ammonia based military style solvents are intended to remove the copper fouling that is a major issue in gas operated firearms that tend to become hot with rapid firing, expanding the grain of the steel and allowing copper to collect on surfaces. This is one of the reasons that many military arms chrome plate the areas that will contact the bullet under pressure. Chrome is resistant to this problem. Also, without the chrome plating you would still need to use a non-ammonia based solvent such as Standard Hoppe's #9 after cleaning the copper out in order to remove the ammonia solvent or you could still have corrosion problems cause by the ammonia.
