I have a Mosin-Nagant Model 91/30 built in 1942. I needed to adjust the front sight. The site was stuck good and tight and I was unable to drift it with a Hammer and drift punch. So I thought I would give this little tool a shot. Took a bit of torquing, but the site finally broke free and I was able to drift it right where I needed it. This tool is tough and well designed. It fits reasonably well around the barrel. The screws will mar (remove the parker finish) the sides of the site a little bit, but I felt it was worth it. Just loosen both screws, slip the tool over the barrel and align it with the front site, then tighten the screw on the side needed to drift the site. It works great.

Pardon the pun, but this li'l gadget takes a lot of the guesswork out of adjusting the front sight on the Mosin Nagant. It also saves skinned knuckles (from slipping hammers) and messed up metal and finish. Takes very little space on the gun bench or in the range box; is easy to use; looks like the precision tool it is.

Doing what its suppose to: slips on and pushing the sight to either side. This quality gadget is easy to use and very precise with application to keep your target hits consistent and accurate. I only wish I should have bought this sooner!

I made the mistake of NOT reading the description and ordering the sight tool with intention of using it to dial in my m38 not even considering they have a banded front sight unlike a 91/30, which it clearly states in the ad this is for the 91/30 ONLY. well if i actually would of read fully I would of seen that. But none the less, I have a 91/30 and the tool works perfectly. Very easy to use and good quality. Cheap and effective and a good piece to keep in your range box if you have a 91/30.... if you have another model, well, bring a punch set.

I was expecting a lesser value tool than I got, it's well worth the money. I was unable to move my mosin nagant's sights over by using the hammer and punch method so I got this, all I had to do was slap this on and easily move it and the sight quickly got unstuck and moved to right where I wanted it. If you want to accurately sight in this rifle for windage, you won't find a better tool than this to use. The only thing you should watch for is maring your sight if it's snug (like mine was)...all you gotta do is put a cloth or something in between the screws and the sights.
