I was able to try this choke out today in my Rem 870 w/28" barrel paired with Winchester Longbeard 3" #5s. I am in no way affiliated with any of these companies, just a hunting enthusiast that did a little reading and happened to stumble on an incredible match. My forty five yard target had a much denser pattern than a myriad of combos I ran last year at 30 yards. Be sure to pattern your gun because this choke throws a SUPER tight pattern 25 yards and closer. I could go on and on... not sure whether my gun loves the choke or the ammo but this is exactly what I have been looking for. Happy hunting!

This choke when paired with Winchester Long Beard XR ammo will extend the yardage on most guns. I am shooting it with a 870 Remington pump and a Charles Daly automatic. It gave both guns another 10 or 11 yards of good dense patterns. I usually shoot shot size #4's or #5's but with this choke I have settled for #6's which gives me a greater number of shot than either 4's or 5's and a denser, thicker pattern. I shoot 3" shells and I would image that the 3 1/2's would be even better, but because of an old shoulder injury I don't like the recoil of the 3 1/2's. I also have a Carlson Long Beard Choke on my Tristar 20 gauge that will out preform most factory choked 12 gauge shotguns. I know there are custom chokes out there that might do better, but for my money, I am well pleased with what this choke can do.
