I shot the cheap 2&3/4 winchester rifled slugs through my smooth bore 870 express with this rifled choke and had absolutley AMAZING accuracy. I could almost shoot through the same hole in my target over and over again at 75yds. At worst, we're talking a 2in spread. Never thought I'd be able to do that with a smooth bore slug gun. Amazing. Remington Sluggers were also very good, but not as good as the Winchester. Federal Truball were functional if in a pinch, but not that impressive. Far less accurate and tended to tumble. Stick with the 1600fps or less for whatever round you choose. Great choke!!!
I changed my choke out from an improved cylinder to the rifled choke tube from carlsons and it improved my accuracy to almost dead on out to 90 yards instead of dead on at 50 yards can't wait to shoot further than 90 yards I'm sure I will still be very impressed. There is no reason to waist money on rifled barrels and sabots when you can use this choke tube with rifled slugs and get excellent accuracy.I changed my choke out from an improved cylinder to the rifled choke tube from carlsons and it improved my accuracy to almost dead on out to 90 yards instead of dead on at 50 yards can't wait to shoot further than 90 yards I'm sure I will still be very impressed. I was impressed with the accuracy. I was shooting Federal slugs through a smooth bore Remington 11-87 with this Carlson rifled choke tube topped with a Redfield 2-7 power scope at 50 yards and got a 3 shot group that could be covered with a half dollar. Can't wait to take this outfit hunting.
