This thing is awesome. Setup is easy and quick. It can be made to sit flat on the ground if you want or stood up so that you can shoot fully standing behind it. I'm 6 feet tall and love using it that way to hunt varmints. The top adjustments to hold your rifle can be made to support any shoulder weapon quite easily. My varmint rifle weights in at 13 1/2 pounds and this supports it effortlessly while perfectly balanced. The head smoothly pivots 360 degrees and tilts for elevation with ease and yet is solid enough to enable a steady hold. The spikes on the bottom of the legs are aggressive and ensure that it will stay where you put it. You can use this while sitting in any lawn chair if you want and have the support of a custom bench rest. It is large and when fully folded the carry strap helps to move it around. The clamp adjustments are easy to use and adjust for tension. You will need to be careful not to tighten those down too much so as to wear them out. This is the best shooting accessory that I've ever bought and I recommend it.Read full review

Caldwell advertises this unit as weighing 13Lb mine actually weighs 15Lb 4Oz. The skimpy 1" carry strap is short and can only be slung over your shoulder/collar bone which starts burning within minutes. Very poor arrangement. I repurposed a backpack with a built in rifle carry system. Much easier when the weight is spread out across both shoulders with padded straps. The pod initially assembles easily. In the field once set up switching from say sitting to standing position takes time. The gun has to be removed adjustments made replace the gun and a lot of body movement. You will not be able to make the switch if the animal is close unless you are in a blind. For long range shots a switch might be possible but the time involved the animal may be gone before you finish. The unit is very stable and all adjustments are easy except for rotation. The small knob below the vertical adjustment friction knob is very small and impossible to tighten enough to stop the gun from swinging left or right (see picture). Caldwell needs to address this problem. Don't use a pair of pliers the knob is plastic. I am making a custom T-bar tool to fit the knob. The unit is very well built but way to expensive! For the last 2 years my son (6 then) has struggled to hold a gun and harvest a deer. I bought this and on his first shot was successful in harvesting a buck. The Caldwell Dead Shot Shooting Rest made this a memorable hunt that neither he or I will ever forget. I bought the one that extends to 60 inches in anticipation for standing and shooting myself. It is easy to work and folds up and fits in the back of my Polaris easy and is very light and portable to use.

Good quality. Works well. Could use a bag to carry instead of a strap. The knob that allows the rest to swivel is small and smooth, so it is not easy to tighten. Other than that. I am happy with it. Wood chucks don't like it thought!
